Update the general information

The centre's address, phone number or email has changed? You correct it only once, in Settings > General: every page of the site that shows it is up to date.

Steps

  1. Open Settings > General. The General information screen opens.
  2. Change the fields concerned: Name of the centre, Address, Zip code, City, Access, Google Maps link, Telephone, Email.
  3. Click Update.

Fields worth knowing

  • Access: the public transport stations. For an icon in front of a line, type [icon name="train"] (or bus) before the text.
  • Telephone: written as it should be displayed. On a mobile phone, visitors can tap it to call.
  • Main menu's label: the text of the back button in the sub-menus of the site menu.

Check the result

Open a page that shows this information (the contact page, the footer): the new information is there. If you still see the old one, reload the page with Ctrl + F5 (on a Mac: Cmd + Shift + R).

If it does not work

  • A page still shows the old address: it is probably written directly in the page, rather than taken from this screen. Change it in the page, or replace it with [info name="address"] (see Shortcodes).
  • The "General" menu does not exist: the Layout module is not active on your site; ask the webmaster.
